Bio

(I have a new blog at www.mjdills.blogspot.com called "It's Always Something." Please visit it, follow it and share your comments. The blog on this site will continue to be available. Thanks for reading!)

Margo Jodyne Dills goes by the nickname Jodi because she's had an identity crisis her entire life and suspects she may have a split personality. What that means in psychology terms is not something we have space to discuss. Suffice it to say, her mother calls her Margo.

Jodi grew up in a small town in Washington, which inspired her book Ohanepekosh, a coming of age tale of a young girl and her'relationship with her father and the world around them, growing up in the 1950's and 60's.

Nothing Gold is a memoir depicting the horrific changes Jodi faced when her darling husband contracted meningitis, spent three months hospitalized and over a year convalescing and coping with losses and disabilities, only to leave her for a lifestyle of madness.

Mozo is a novel set in Puerto Vallarta with brief visits to Seattle. Even though this aspect mirrors Jodi's life, Mozo is hardly autobiographical. The main character, Rachel Lawrence, is a happy, normal American woman who, after certain turns of events, relocates to Mexico where she is confronted with many of her preconceived ideas about the country. Rachel's life is changed by the Mexicans who touch her life; her eyes and heart are opened and she embraces the cultural differences.

Jodi's first published piece was in the school paper at the age of twelve. College publications and the local town news rag gave her opportunity to show off further talents.

In her spare time she works on her Spanish skills, reads and writes. Her favorite pastime is researching subjects she writes about, utilizing the internet, books, documentaries and personal interviews. A perfect day that doesn't involve work would include time on the water, a game of Scrabble and a high quality discussion over margaritas, no subjects barred.

As a self employed writer and editor, Margo Jodyne Dills demands high quality of her sole employee. Punctuation, grammar and checking facts are of extreme importance.

The objective is to produce interesting, accurate and enjoyable products.

Having fun in the process is part of the goal.
